Our Spring Dining Room Reveal

Bunnies, Bunnies everywhere!! Our daughter makes us listen to this 'Bunny Hop' song at least once a day so that may have led to my decorating theme this year :) I kept our dining room fairly simple with a few Spring-ish Easter touches. See the details below...

Spring & Easter Centrepiece idea

This is our Dining room centrepiece for Spring and Easter this year. I tried to keep it whimsical for our almost 2 year old daughter (she helped Mommy place all the eggs.. and was quite proud of herself). On the centre of our dining table we used a linen grain sack style table runner with our Antique wooden dough bowl on top. See details on how we styled it below.

Basement Hall Reveal

A few days ago I shared our Bar Area reveal, so many sweet comments.. Thank you so much!! For today I am sharing the rest of the space.. Its all connected and open. To help with the flow I kept the colour scheme neutral. We designed the whole basement floor plan.. and tried to make the most of every space. See Below for how we decorated our Basement Nook and Hallway.

Ikea Varde Cabinet transformed into Rustic Wood Bar

So this is my favourite project to date.. yes I think even more so than my kitchen island transformation... So my philosophy has always been if you can't find it or afford it.. MAKE IT!!!
So thats just what we did.. I was on the hunt for months for a basement Bar , we even looked into having a carpenter build one custom for us.. but the price was upwards to $2000 plus it wasn't really the look we wanted.. I sourced and sourced thrift shops, local ReStores and antique markets for the perfect piece and every time came up empty handed.. until one day I started talking to a local Antique shop owner about what I wanted and she said she didn't have any Vintage bars in stock, but she did have a old island that was the approx. size I needed but it would need A LOT of work!! She wanted to get rid of it so she sold it to us for only $25!!! I was in heaven!! Next came the design.. I wanted barn wood but usable! SO we decided to plank the base of the bar in a barn door style and add a galvanized top.. Easy right?? Not quite.. See How we made our custom Rustic bar below..

Basement Bar Area Reveal

So here is the open area of our basement connected to the Family Rm .. We loved the rounded wall behind the bar so we didn't want to close it off.. So we went with a open Bar area.. We couldn't find something to fit the space or for a reasonable price so we customized a Rustic Bar for the space. See below on how we decorated our bar to keep with the coastal theme...

Girl's Playroom Reveal

Here is our daughters play haven...It is a smaller room just off our basement Family Room. Anyone following me knows I love my neutrals and whites, This is the one true spot where the more colour the better ;) Our daughter is the most important thing to us so we wanted to give her a space to remember.. When I was younger I had a playroom and I remember all the fun I used to have with my sister playing dress up or kitchen. See how we created a special room for our Daughter Elle.

Simple twist to the Ikea Mala Easel

I just LOVE, LOVE this Ikea easel.. The price can't be beat at only $20!
It's a great size for our daughter to grow into.. The only real thing I didn't love was the red plastic easel space.. so with some chalk paint and decals it was easily transformed.. See the details below..
