DIY Laundry / Mudroom Wall Hooks

Here is a way we transformed our blank canvas of a wall in our laundry room into cute wall hook storage.. We were trying to make a mini mudroom in our laundry for extra storage to hang bags and drying hooks for our wet clothes etc... We created this wall hook using left over scraps from various other projects around our house.. The only thing I needed to buy were these 4 hooks from Rona. Read the rest of the details below..

We had some wood left over from our sons nursery ship lap wall.. Then with some paint, brad nailer, dap filler, and hooks.. We made this super easy, wall hooks.
First we added the left over planks by brad nailing them to the wall
Then trimmed the edges with MDF trim pieces we had leftover from our Basement wainscoting
because the MDF trim was thin. We doubled up where the hooks would go, creating a thicker upper trim piece... and added a topper of cedar wood to created a small top ledge against the wall.
Now came the fun part of filling in all the holes from brad nailer and gaps on side.. as of right now I have yet to paint the inner planks of wood...I may paint the planks a simple white down the road but for now I actually liked the natural distressed look of the raw wood..
Then sand, another coat of dap, sand again once dry and prime.
Ta-da and here is how it all turned out.. a cute spot to hang our daughters backpack and to hang clothes to dry.
